To ensure the sustainability of his dairy farm, Michel Warz\u00e9e, farmer and director of Warz\u00e9e SA, chose to turn to micro-biomethanization.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thus, Michel embarked on the journey: after a disappointing experience with a manufacturer, he decided to design the installation himself. After six months of reflection, he managed to complete it in just three months.<\/p>\n

To minimize maintenance costs, he chose high-quality equipment for essential components (pumps, cogeneration engine, tank materials, etc.). Additionally, to offset these investments, he optimized the installation by integrating heat exchangers and using a system for digestate removal via the principle of communicating vessels, thereby avoiding the need for a pump.<\/p>\n

The installation is unique in that it is not connected to the electrical grid, allowing the cogeneration engine to adjust automatically according to the farm’s energy needs.<\/p>\n

Since May 2017, the unit has been operating continuously, producing biogas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.<\/p>\n

At the end of 2021, two medium-voltage substations and one medium-voltage cable were installed to connect the farm to Warz\u00e9e SA. In January 2022, the workshop was connected to the biomethanization installation.<\/p>\n

Since the connection, Warz\u00e9e SA has been exclusively powered by green energy, enabling the company to be completely independent of electricity suppliers.<\/p>\n

In the context of the energy crisis we have experienced, this situation provides the company not only with unparalleled peace of mind for the future but also a significant competitive advantage, as it will not be forced to pass on the costs of high electricity bills to its customers.<\/p>\n

WARZ\u00c9E BIOM\u00c9THANISATION<\/strong> benefits from co-financing from the EUROPEAN UNION<\/strong> under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).<\/p>\n

What is Biomethanization?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Biomethanization is a biological process that transforms organic matter into biogas through the action of microorganisms, in an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment. This fermentation process is similar to what occurs in a cow\u2019s rumen.<\/p>\n
